FRS, PMR, GMRS and other models have preset the receiving/transmitting frequency to this unit. You cannot modify the frequency, but you can modify the CTCSS and DCS code to eliminate the same frequency interference from the surroundings.
The frequency of amateur radio is limited to the range allowed by the local radio regulatory authority. European CE standards are limited to 144-146MHz, 430-440MHz; Canadian IC standards are limited to 144-148MHz, 430-450MHz.
